Directed by Craig J. George, "Lighter" is the story of two diet-crossed lovers, as a low-carb lady leaves her high-carb man to find fame and fortune on American Weight Loss Idol! Part of the Developmental Reading Series at the York Theatre, a major Off-Broadway incubator for new American musicals.

A gay, cross-dressing Middle East studies professor is pursued by the dumbest FBI agent in history, with a cameo by Pres. Bush.

When the Mad Burka Army burkas the statue of Liberty, suspicion falls on mild-mannered musical-theater-loving professor Khalid Amir. As his friends find their long-lost political courage defending him, Khalid discovers his own courage, as they revive the spirit of the '60s to "fight the power!"
